Basketball is over!

Today was the last day for basketball games and the awards were given out, so now moving straight onto baseball!  Reed loves baseball, but Ben...not so much, so we're going to get him into some triathalon training like his daddy.  He did a kid's triathalon last year and really seemed to like it, so we're going to try and find another one for him to do.  As much as he'd like to sit around and play computers all day, it's not happening in this house.  Gotta keep these kids busy!

Our social worker finished our homestudy, and we've turned in everything  that we can until we get our passports, so we're just waiting..  Guess I better get use to the waiting game now, because I think we'll be doing a lot of that this year!   Both of ours should be here anyday, so I'm anxiously awaiting them in the mail.

I went to Canton(best place in the world for a full day of non-stop shopping) and saw TONS of girl things that I could've bought, but I contolled myself!  I have bought a few things already, but I really want to wait until I know what size she is before I get too much.  I can already tell I'm going to really dig this shopping for girl clothes thing..;) I did get a new coffee table and end table that I LOVE!  I've been eyeing it for years. Everytime we'd go on our girl's weekend to Canton, I wanted to get it but couldn't justify it because we had a perfecly good one at home, Well, it finally bit the dust,(and no, I didn't break it on purpose) so guess where mama went?!  It's big, chuncky, distressed and has pressed tin on it and an old door on top that opens up.  I love old and distressed!

I've been reading and highly recommend a book called "Silent Tears" by Kay Bratt.  It's about a woman that moves to China with her family because her husband was relocated, and she starts volunteering in a local orphanage.  It's a journal of her life there as a volunteer, and as you can imagine it's extremely difficult to read. I have to put it down at times because it's so hard to imagine what really goes on there, but I think it's good sometimes for us to take our blinders off and have our hearts broken. I haven't finished it yet, but it's a really interesting and eye-opening book if anybody is curious about the daily life inside a Chinese orphanage.

That's all for now.  We are taking the boys to see Rango tonight.  Hoping I can bring enough candy to keep Gage occupied!
